Abstrakt: A study conducted by investigators from Changzhi Medical College in the People's Republic of China focused on the outcomes of minimal proximal resection margin (PRM) in total gastrectomy for Siewert II adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction. The study included 178 patients and found that a PRM length of 20-25 mm resulted in less operation time and similar short- and long-term outcomes compared to a PRM length of 30-35 mm. The research suggests that a minimal PRM length of 20-25 mm could be a suitable option for patients with Siewert II advanced adenocarcinoma. [Extracted from the article]
