A recent study conducted at Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India, explored the potential of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) as a biomarker for predicting outcomes in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). The review of literature revealed that elevated hs-cTn levels were associated with increased mortality and hospitalization rates in PH patients, indicating its potential as a valuable biomarker for risk stratification and prognosis. However, further large-scale prospective studies are needed to confirm the diagnostic and therapeutic value of hs-cTn in pulmonary hypertension. [Extracted from the article] |
