A recent report from the Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen discusses the development of supramolecular lactobionic acid (SLBA) complexes to enhance the bioavailability and clinical efficacy of lactobionic acid (LBA). Through computer high-throughput screening and ab initio analysis, researchers synthesized SLBA, which showed significant improvements over LBA in cellular, animal, and clinical trials. The study highlights the potential applications of SLBA in anti-aging beauty, clinical treatment, biomedicine, and food preservation. Funding for this research was provided by various organizations, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangdong Province Covid-19 Pandemic Control Research Fund.
