A study conducted by Alborz University of Medical Sciences in Karaj, Iran, focused on the efficacy and safety of preventive medications for pediatric migraine. The research involved a network meta-analysis of 45 trials with 3771 participants, evaluating various oral pharmacological interventions. The study found that topiramate and pregabalin were associated with a reduction in headache frequency and intensity, while other drugs like flunarizine, riboflavin, amitriptyline, and cinnarizine also showed promising results. However, further research is needed to develop more comprehensive treatment strategies and explore potential combination therapies, especially those involving vitamins, to improve pediatric migraine management.
