A recent study conducted by researchers at Islamic Azad University in Iran focused on the detection, identification, and health risk assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface soils near the Arad-Kouh processing and disposal complex in Tehran. The study found that PAH compounds with 4-6 rings dominated the PAH profiles, indicating a potential pyrogenic source. While the study suggested a low potential carcinogenic risk of PAH compounds in the area, it recommended regular monitoring and efforts to mitigate pollution for human health maintenance. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the International Journal of Environmental & Analytical Chemistry. [Extracted from the article] |
