The sugarcane caterpiliar (Diatraea Saccharalis) is one of the most important pests of sugarcane plantations. Studies suggest that the Cotesia wasp Flavipes can control the population of the Diatraea Caterpillar Saccharalis, thus avoiding economic damage. This paper considers the application of optimal control in a ratio-dependent predator-prey system, where the caterpillar Diatraea saccharalis is the prey and the Cotesia wasp Flavipes. The linearization of the ratio-dependent model made it possible to reduce the problem of obtaining optimal control to the problem of control synthesis for linear systems with a quadratic functional. Numerical simulations showed that the proposed control is efficient in stabilizing the system at a desired point below the critical concentration, thus allowing it to minimize the level of economic damage.
