The article discusses the use of spinal anesthesia with chlorprocaine and erector spinae plane (ESP) block as an alternative for ambulatory open inguinal hernia repair. The case study of a 57-year-old patient undergoing surgery under short-acting spinal anesthesia and ESP block is presented, highlighting the successful outcome with rapid recovery and discharge. The combination of chlorprocaine and ESP block is proposed as a safe and viable alternative to local anesthesia or general anesthesia for ambulatory hernia repair, offering effective postoperative analgesia and shorter hospitalization times.
