Spin-orbit coupling in groups of (3d, 4f, 5f) ions by means of the segregation of their orbital moments Lr creates new substance--orbital glass. In many- electron operator-spinors' representation, spin-orbit coupling in sea of band fermions (fr or hr) is expressed by their density (ne of electrons or nh of holes). The orbital-glass influence on bond spectra 8k(e, h) is expressed by segregation-excitation energies. Fractional spin (S) and orbital (L) moments of 3d- elements are determined by spin-orbit coupling. Light 4f-elements have orbital moment L < 0 due to electron charges er < 0, but heavy elements have orbital moment L > 0 due to hole charges hr > 0. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
