The national cultural monument - the power station in Háj near Mohelnice and the neighbouring villa of the Plhák family, also protected as a monument, celebrated the centenary of its completion in 2022. These remarkable buildings tell a story that gets more complicated with each historical twist in the Czech society. They also show how short the memory of alternating generations is and how easy it is to forget the essentials of a shared history. Detailed arthistorical probes, to which the exhibition "Pohnutá historie" (Troubled History) gave impetus. Power plant and villa in Háj near Mohelnice in the Olomouc Art Museum (2023); by means of them, this article not only summarizes, but further supplements the story of Háj. On the basis of new findings, exhibition curators, Klára Jeništová and Martina Mertová, modified the authorship of a set of furniture, which is found in the collections of the Silesian Museum. They also expanded the inventory of the villa's original furnishings and contextually interpreted the rapid architectural development of the early 1920s, which the settlement of Háj with its uniquely preserved buildings and documents brilliantly illustrates.
