Abstrakt: Prototyping with incremental sheet forming is becoming the newest trend in the manufacturing industry due to its flexibility and low cost for generating customized components based on client needs. The main goal of this paper is to minimize the manufacturing time, surface roughness, and forming force requirement in the incremental forming process by optimizing the process parameters. The incremental forming experiments were performed on a CNC milling machine as per Taguchi L9 (33) orthogonal array by varying the tool diameter, step depth and wall angle in three levels. The optimization of the selected performance characteristics has been performed by the application of integrated fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution methods. Finally, analysis of variance has been used to understand the effect of process parameters on the individual response variables. The result shows that step depth was a highly significant parameter with the highest contribution of 70.31% followed by wall angle at 20.71%. Tool diameter is the least significant parameter with an 8.97% contribution. The effectiveness of the suggested technique was further verified by performing the confirmation experiment with optimum parameter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
