Abstrakt: The article discusses a case study of a 2-year-old child with congenital immunodeficiency who underwent a multi-stage hybrid surgical treatment followed by a Melody mitral valve replacement (MVR) due to infective endocarditis. The child initially presented with respiratory tract infections, leading to the diagnosis of Shone's syndrome. The child required replacement of the Melody prosthesis after 1.5 years due to infective endocarditis during severe pneumonia, highlighting the challenges and complexities of treating congenital heart defects in pediatric patients.
