A recent study conducted by researchers at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania focused on assessing the quality of antimalarial medicines in mainland Tanzania over a five-year period. The study found that all 2,032 antimalarial samples collected during the study met the standard specifications for identity, dissolution, related substances, sterility, physical evaluation, disintegration, and assay. However, 55.5% of the samples failed the product information review evaluation due to incomplete package information in leaflets. The researchers recommended continuous monitoring of the quality of antimalarial medicines in the Tanzanian market to ensure sustained quality standards. [Extracted from the article] |
