Abstrakt: The Wageningen Food Safety Research (WFSR) has developed a generic food safety assessment (GFSA) framework based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) to evaluate potential food safety hazards arising from changes in the primary production system. A case study involving the transition from sole cropping of oats to intercropping with lupins demonstrated the framework's effectiveness in identifying hazards and implementing control measures. The research emphasizes the importance of effective communication in managing food safety along the supply chain, especially during changes in primary production. This peer-reviewed study highlights the need for coordinated action and support for smallholder or individual farmers in implementing food safety assessments. [Extracted from the article]
