A study conducted at Pontifical Catholic University in Santiago, Chile, focused on the clinical manifestations of dermatomyositis (DM) in the periungual folds, scalp, and oral cavity, and their association with disease activity and damage. The research compared trichoscopic, oral, and periungual changes between DM patients and healthy individuals, finding correlations with disease activity and damage markers. Specific antibodies and physical findings were associated with varying levels of disease activity and damage in DM patients, providing valuable insights for diagnosis and treatment. The study was published in the Archives of Dermatological Research and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article] |
