Abstrakt: Researchers at Hong Kong Polytechnic University have discovered that the E3 ubiquitin ligase MDM2 plays a crucial role in promoting the glycolytic and inflammatory activities of M1 macrophages by increasing the production of IL-1b, MCP-1, and nitric oxide (NO). This study sheds light on how MDM2 connects the iNOS-NO and HIF-1a pathways to trigger glycolytic and pro-inflammatory responses in M1 macrophages. The findings suggest that MDM2 could be a key player in regulating immune responses and metabolic diseases. [Extracted from the article]
