A recent study conducted at Hebei Normal University in Shijiazhuang, People's Republic of China, explored the effects of probiotic supplementary bioflocs, specifically Rhodospirillum rubrum, Bacillus subtilis, and Providencia rettgeri, on the growth, immunity, and water quality in cultures of Pacific white shrimp. The research found that the supplementation of Bacillus subtilis and Providencia rettgeri in bioflocs promoted shrimp growth through nutritional supplementation and optimization of the water environment. Additionally, Providencia rettgeri was shown to enhance immune responses and stress resistance in shrimp. The study concluded that further investigation into microbial species or combinations that can stimulate bioflocs to produce more nutrients is necessary. [Extracted from the article] |
