A recent study conducted at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia focused on assessing the prevalence of sleep disorders among elderly individuals. The research found that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and restless legs syndrome (RLS) were common among the elderly population in Saudi Arabia. Both geriatric and nongeriatric groups showed a high prevalence of poor sleep quality, with factors such as insomnia, OSA, and high body mass index significantly associated with poor sleep quality. The study highlights the importance of understanding the complex relationship between aging and sleep disorders in the elderly population. [Extracted from the article] |
