Researchers at the University of Louisville conducted a study to identify factors predicting margin status after mastectomy in women with Tis-T3 breast cancers. The study found that age, body mass index, tumor location, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, immediate reconstruction, and tumor to breast volume ratio were significant predictors of margin status. These findings can be valuable in counseling women considering mastectomy. The research was published in the Annals of Surgical Oncology and can provide further insights into breast cancer treatment.
