Abstrakt: Herein, we disclosed a protocol for the deoxygenation of allyl arylsulfones to access the corresponding thioethers under photoredox conditions by a "cut-sew" strategy. The key to the success of the deoxygenation process is using triarylphosphines not only as the terminal reductants, but also as the reaction initiators. Deeper understanding of this deoxygenation process enabled the intermolecular deoxygenative allylation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
