Bertiella studeri, a typical intestinal cestode of nonhuman primates, accidentally infects human beings. However, B. studeri infection in monkeys has been rarely reported in recent years. A case of B. studeri infection was identified in one captive rhesus macaque with natural infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This study contributes to alerting the public of this helmintic zoonosis, though its infection rate is quite lower in recent years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
