Materials and Methods: An interventional study was done for which patients were selected from the outpatient department and inpatient department of Shalakya Tantra and were randomly divided into two Groups A and B. Group A was asked to topically place Koshna Hingu (warm asafoetida) at the site of Krimidanta janya shoola three times a day for 3 days and Group B was advised to take paracetamol (acetaminophen) three times a day for 3 days. A total of 30 patients were enrolled in the study and all of them completed the treatment. Results and Conclusion: The study showed that both Hingu and tablet paracetamol were effective in managing the pain caused due to dental caries, although the results were slightly better for the group which was given Hingu topically.
