This research paper presents an experimental study on the application of externally bonded CFRP sheets for the purpose of repairing hybrid concrete beams under flexural loads. The hybrid beams consisted of two different types of concrete: high-strength self-compacting concrete for the compression zone and normal-strength concrete for the tension zone. Six hybrid beams were cast and tested under two-point loads with a simply supported connection. One beam was a control, while the other five were loaded 65% of the ultimate load (66 kN), and then the load was released to zero. Each of the five cases was repaired using a series of sheets, ranging from one to three, placed in different locations and with varying numbers of layers. According to the findings of the investigation, there was a significant improvement in both the ultimate load (11.8%-65.7%) and the first crack load (25%-50%). Crack width, load deflection, and failure mode were some of the other parameters that were investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
