Abstrakt: This article discusses the importance of understanding perceived injustice related to chronic pain and the need to examine how different demographic groups, specifically gender and racial/ethnic minorities, experience and report these perceptions. The article focuses on the Injustice Experience Questionnaire (IEQ) as a tool to assess perceived injustice and highlights the necessity of establishing measurement invariance across gender and racial/ethnic minority status to ensure the questionnaire's reliability. The study conducted tests on the measurement equivalence of the IEQ and found partial measurement invariance across gender and full measurement invariance across racial/ethnic minority status. The findings suggest that the IEQ can be used to assess perceived injustice in diverse populations, contributing to more equitable pain care. However, the study has limitations, such as the reliance on a self-selected sample and the need for more inclusive gender and racial/ethnic categories in future research. Overall, the study lays the groundwork for developing interventions that address pain injustice more accurately and improve pain management strategies for diverse populations.
