Researchers from the University of Birmingham have conducted a feasibility study on digital decentralised clinical trials (DCT) to assess non-pharmacological interventions for long COVID. The study found that the DCT platform was successful in e-consenting participants, randomizing them into intervention arms, and capturing relevant data. However, the study also identified challenges such as recruitment difficulties, imposter participants, and high attrition rates. The researchers suggest that these challenges can be mitigated to make a fully powered DCT more feasible. [Extracted from the article] |
