Abstrakt: | Recent studies conducted at the University of the Sunshine Coast have provided new data on Escherichia coli (E. coli). The research focused on the identification of virulence genes associated with the pathogenicity of translocating E. coli, with a specific emphasis on the Type 6 Secretion System (T6SS). The study found that the presence of T6SS-1 was significantly higher in E. coli strains causing urinary tract infections and septicaemia compared to strains causing diarrhoea and inflammatory bowel disease. These findings suggest that T6SS-1 may play a role in the pathogenesis of translocating E. coli. [Extracted from the article] |
