A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at the University of Campinas in Brazil examined the effects of cardiovascular telerehabilitation programs (CV-T-REHAB) on functional capacity, cardiorespiratory fitness, and quality of life in older adults. The study found that CV-T-REHAB improved functional capacity, cardiorespiratory fitness, and quality of life to a similar extent as in-person rehabilitation programs (CV-P-REHAB). Additionally, CV-T-REHAB was found to be particularly effective for improving quality of life in older adults over the age of 65. The researchers concluded that CV-T-REHAB can be a viable alternative for individuals with limited access to in-person programs. [Extracted from the article] |
