A patent application has been filed for devices used in the treatment of secondary tricuspid valve or mitral valve regurgitation. The devices include a compression belt that is delivered around the atrioventricular groove of the heart to reduce the size of the stretched valves. The patent application proposes new devices for placing tension on the belt and locking the sutures in place, as the use of a locking device in minimally-invasive procedures can be challenging. An integrated delivery system is also described, which includes a delivery sheath, pusher catheter, suture lock, annuloplasty belt, and tensioning device. The patent application provides detailed descriptions of the various components and their functions. [Extracted from the article] |
