A researcher from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary has published findings on the performance and safety of the extravascular implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (EV ICD) system. The study, known as the EV ICD Pivotal study, aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of the EV ICD system over a long-term period. The study found that the EV ICD system maintained high success rates for antitachycardia pacing and effective defibrillation, while also demonstrating a consistent safety profile. The research concluded that the EV ICD system is a viable option for individuals requiring a single-chamber ICD. [Extracted from the article] |
