Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Calgary examined the clinical characteristics that influence the timing of cerebral palsy (CP) diagnosis in neonatal follow-up clinics. The study found that the timing of CP diagnosis is influenced by the severity of motor impairment, the type of motor impairment, and the distribution of CP. Infants with less motor impairment experienced a longer delay between suspicion and formal diagnosis of CP. The researchers suggest that targeted implementation of early assessment tools could help reduce this delay. [Extracted from the article]
