A recent study conducted at King Saud University Medical City in Saudi Arabia compared the efficacy and safety of two surgical approaches, retropubic tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) and transobturator tape (TOT), for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) in women. The study found that both techniques were effective in managing SUI, but the transobturator approach had fewer complications and shorter recovery times. The researchers recommend the establishment of a national registry to track long-term outcomes and improve procedural evidence. The study was published in Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology. [Extracted from the article] |
