Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in New York City compared the use of an intermittently scanned continuous glucose monitoring system (isCGM) to standard self-monitoring of capillary blood glucose (BGM) in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The study found that the isCGM demonstrated clinical agreement with BGM, but glucose values trended lower with greater mean and median absolute relative difference (ARD) compared to previous studies. The researchers concluded that physicians should be aware of these differences and their potential clinical implications, given the strict glycemic control required during pregnancy. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in the American Journal of Perinatology. [Extracted from the article] |
