Abstrakt: Leopoli-Cencelle town, founded by Pope Leo IV in 854 A.D., is located in the Tolfa Mountains in the territory of the municipality of Tarquinia (VT). The presented research focuses on the analysis of 15 rings from funerary contexts, which can be dated between the 13th and 15th centuries, analysed both from archaeological and archaeometrical perspective. The interpretations of these artefacts intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics, obtained by synthesising data from the excavation contexts, anthropological data and archaeometric analyses, revealed some interesting features related to the production process, gender and owners status. In this investigation was crucial to develop a mental attitude able to correlate the archaeological artefacts polysemanticity by carefully exploring the whole set of possible meanings between individual objects and the contexts in which they were found [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
