The study conducted on some materials preserved at the Civic Museum for the prehistory of Monte Cetona, has allowed us do draw information about the possible presence of an Etruscan necropolis in the Fontevetriana area, located on the south-western slopes of the Cetona Mountain. The finds, very fragmentary and for which there is no information on the discovery, indicate an exploitation of the necropolis between the recent Orientalising period and the Archaic age. The location of the necropolis, on the route that flanks the Cetona massif to the west, connecting the territory of Sarteano to that of Cetona and San Casciano dei Bagni, is very significant in the context of the management of the territory by Chiusi. With this contribution we want to present the data resulting from the material analysis of the finds, with the aim of increasing knowledge of the territory of the southern closed countryside in Etruscan era.
