Purpose: The purpose of this introduction is to broadly discuss cultural responsiveness and serve as a prelude to the forum articles, which discuss specific aspects of cultural responsiveness within voice care. Conclusion: Cultural responsiveness encompasses practices that consider the patient's cultural beliefs, values, and perspectives in all aspects of the therapeutic process. Voice is a cultural construct, and as such, the presence or impact of a voice disorder is impacted by a patient's culture. Each article in this forum is briefly introduced. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
