Carbon Plastics Based on the Fire-Resistant Prepreg Epoxy-Benzoxazine Binders.

Abstrakt: Prepreg binders based on organophosphorus epoxy-benzoxazine compositions have been developed for the production of low-flammability carbon fiber reinforced plastics. The composition was optimized taking into account required characteristics: technological window for fabric impregnation, prepreg tack, heat resistance and mechanical characteristics of the resulting carbon fiber reinforced plastics. It is shown that the resulting carbon fiber plastics have high heat resistance, elastic modulus and strength, as well as a V-0 and V-1 flammability class according to the UL94 standard.
