Abstrakt: The principles of technical realization of ignition systems with enhanced ignition capacity in high-altitude conditions of aircraft gas turbine engines start-up are analyzed, including low-voltage and high-voltage capacitive ignition systems, pulse-plasma system, and ignition system with adjustable sequence of spark discharges in semiconductor plugs. The fundamental difference of conditions of fuel-air mixture ignition for the ground and high-altitude engine launches is shown. The described methods of improving the ignition system capacity are substantiated and confirmed by the results of experimental studies of the starting characteristics of gas turbine engine combustion chamber igniters.
