A patent application for an asymmetrical ultrasound transducer array has been filed by inventors Sandeep Akkaraju, Brian Bircumshaw, and Haesung Kwon. The transducer array is designed to improve the performance of imaging systems used to image internal organs. The array consists of micromachined ultrasonic transducers (MUTs) arranged in a two-dimensional array, with the MUTs in the second row shifted horizontally and vertically relative to the MUTs in the first row. This design allows for increased bandwidth and enhanced acoustic performance. The patent application provides detailed claims and descriptions of the transducer array. [Extracted from the article] |
