Abstrakt: Researchers from Boston University conducted a study to evaluate the use of computerized tomography angiography (CTA) in comparison to digital subtraction angiography (DSA) for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The study included patients who underwent lower extremity imaging and were followed up to 12 months. The researchers found that CTA provided more detailed information on large vessels above the knee and below the knee, such as the iliac artery, superficial femoral artery, and dorsalis pedis. They concluded that CTA may be helpful in addition to angiography for planning surgical and endovascular interventions for symptomatic PAD treatment in larger vessels. [Extracted from the article]
