A study conducted by researchers from Northwestern University examined the adoption of balanced transfusion practices in hospitals for injured patients requiring blood transfusions. The study found that there was significant variability among hospitals in the adoption of balanced transfusion, with only 17.6% of patients undergoing this type of transfusion. The study also identified certain factors that influenced the adoption rates, such as hospital verification level and university teaching status.
