Abstrakt: A new report from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) examines the effect of inner limiting membrane (ILM) peeling on visual fields in patients with glaucoma. The study found that previous research on this topic has primarily focused on visual acuity and neglected visual field changes. The systematic review included 23 studies that met the inclusion criteria, with four of them involving glaucoma patients. The results showed mixed findings, with some studies reporting improvements in visual field defects and others showing deterioration. The study suggests that further research, including randomized controlled trials, is needed to better understand the effects of ILM peeling on glaucoma management. [Extracted from the article]
