A study conducted by researchers at the University of Oviedo in Spain explores the mediating role of group identification in social protest and radicalism. The study examines the relationship between social participation and radicalism in social movements with a power orientation (political) and a cultural orientation (ecofeminisms). The researchers found that group identification acts as a mediating variable in radicalization processes, particularly in movements with a cultural orientation. The study involved 920 participants from the general population and was supported by various organizations, including the Spanish Government. [Extracted from the article] |
