A recent report from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine discusses the use of augmented reality (AR) navigation technology in facial soft tissue defect reconstruction. The study utilized a head-mounted display-based AR guidance system for facial fat grafting and compared its accuracy and efficiency to conventional methods. The results showed that the AR guidance system provided enhanced precision and efficiency in facial soft tissue defect reconstruction, with lower error rates and shorter procedure completion times compared to conventional methods.
