Abstrakt: Researchers at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Shaanxi, China have conducted a study on the development of neuropathological pain. They found that the activation of group I metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRI) in the red nucleus (RN) contributes to the development of this type of pain. Specifically, they discovered that mGluR2, but not mGluR3, plays a role in inhibiting the development of neuropathological pain by suppressing the expressions of TNF-alpha and IL-1β. These findings suggest that mGluR2 may be a potential target for drug development and clinical treatment of neuropathological pain. [Extracted from the article]
