A recent study conducted at Rajshahi University in Bangladesh investigated the hypoglycemic activity of different fractions of black pepper. The study involved extracting three fractions from black pepper using solvents of varying polarities. The results showed that the PEF fraction exhibited better hypoglycemic activity compared to the standard drug metronidazole. However, further research is needed to identify the specific bioactive compounds responsible for the observed effects and to evaluate their efficacy and safety. This research provides valuable insights into the potential health benefits of black pepper. [Extracted from the article] |
