Abstrakt: | A recent report from the University of Michoacana in Mexico discusses the synthesis of benzofuran-based hybrid molecules and their antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The researchers developed a rapid and efficient protocol for synthesizing these compounds and evaluated their antibacterial activity in vitro and in silico. Six of the tested compounds showed activity against the hypervirulent strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Docking studies were conducted to gain further insights into the results, and a pharmacophore model was computed to suggest potential structural derivatives for future research. Overall, 40 novel compounds were synthesized in this study. [Extracted from the article] |
