Abstrakt: A recent study conducted in Tripura, northeast India, explored the prevalence of high-risk HPV infection and age variation in cervical samples of women seeking gynecological care. The study found that 90% of HPV-screened women were HPV positive, with HPV16 being the most common type. Among the confirmed cytological tests, 68.83% showed normal cytology and 37.17% showed atypical abrasions. The prevalence of HPV increased with cytological abnormalities, and parity was strongly associated with overall HPV infection. Further investigations are warranted due to the high frequency of HPV infection observed in the study. [Extracted from the article]
