Abstrakt: This paper describes damage detection using the random decrement method (RDM) for sandwich plate system (SPS). The method uses the measured vibration response of the sandwich plate system (SPS) subjected to hammer force only and uses the random decrement signature as a tool to identify the damage. Before the sandwich plate system (SPS) is modeled, a suitable sandwich plate system thickness configuration will be calculated and has been checked to Lloyd's register regulation. The model used for vibration damage identification will be simulated by Finite Element Computation consisting of two models, intact and damaged model, which is defined by a 3D solid element consisting of three objects: faceplate and core material with given material properties. The change in amplitude can be used as a reference to identify the damage indicator of the sandwich plate system (SPS). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
