Archivo El Insulto is an independent archive in Mexico City that focuses on preserving and sharing erotic and pornographic materials from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The archive challenges traditional archival practices by actively collecting and exhibiting these materials, which are often overlooked by institutional archives. They face challenges in accurately tracing the origins of individual documents due to stigma and lack of resources. Archivo El Insulto emphasizes collaborative relationships to preserve and disseminate these materials, and aims to create spaces for embodied experiences and affective connections with the records.
