Abstrakt: This article examines the concept of social pathologies in relation to informational privacy. It suggests that analyzing privacy through the lens of practice theory and social ontology can reveal power imbalances and injustices within practices. The article proposes a typology of social pathologies in datafication practices, including distortions in knowledge, cognition, motivation, and power relations. By understanding privacy infringements as social pathologies, the article aims to provide a theoretical foundation for empirical research and a deeper understanding of systematic privacy violations. The text also discusses a social-ontological model of informational privacy, emphasizing the importance of mutual recognition and the impact of misrecognition on social practices. It argues that these pathologies can lead to social disintegration and highlights the need to address them to prevent further harm. [Extracted from the article]
