Abstrakt: A review of methods for calculating the energy-power parameters of piercing a workpiece in screw rolling mills and a method for calculating the resistance to metal deformation that takes into account the deformation parameters in the deformation zone of piercing screw rolling mills are presented. Based on calculating results the energy-power parameters when piercing solid billets in mills with different roll shapes, recommendations were made on the use of an improved method for calculating the pressure and force of metal on the rolls when piercing solid billets into hollow sleeves in screw rolling mills with rolls of various types.
